Inescapable Story Ideas

Ah, the painful search for story ideas. You know, it has been said that we only ever write one book. I think this is because, finally, our story ideas choose us much more than we choose them. So you are having difficulty now. Well, what stories, what parts of stories, what things or ideas haunt you? What are your great obsessions? For your story ideas will come out of that, out of what grips your life and gives you a calling that you can’t deny. That is writing: responding to that call. Make a list of what you cannot escape.
