Where to Find a Good Quality Fruit Dehydrator

June 29th, 2010

Most good quality dehydrators will come with a booklet explaining which fruits and vegetables combine best when loading your dehydrator. The internet also has plenty of information on specific drying times for different fruits and vegetables. Follow the recommended drying times given by the manufacturer, but also check the fruit occasionally to see how it is doing. Properly dried fruit should have a leathery texture, with no evident moisture or soft spots. When the fruits are ready, allow time for them to cool, after which they can then be transferred to either plastic freezer bags or glass jars for storage. Watch your family smile when enjoying the results from your fruit dehydrator
